November 20th marked our 1 year anniversary of buying our first home. We were trilled at the journey to home ownership and all it entails. It has actually been a rather easy ride for us, that is, until November 21st. For some odd reason after one year of owning our “perfect” home, after all warranties ran out, EVERYTHING starts!
- Our sump pump mysteriously stopped operating properly and pumps water out of out basement when it feels like it – leading to a flood of about 2 inches.
- We have a leak under our sink.
- Our heater stopped working for a few of the coldest days, which ended up being due to the flood in the basement.
- Electricity would stop working at the oddest of times.
AND…
Kenny got into a fender binder with all the snow and ice that covered the ground. Thankfully he was not hurt and the car was not totaled.
On a lighter note, we added color to our white home.

I will give Mr. credit because I did not do much. I only painted the fireplace. He took on this project during a week off from work and practically surprised my with the colors. I wanted similar colors but had no ideas of the exact colors. I LOVE it. I love color plus I always wanted a red room. It goes so well with cherry wood furniture.
We plan to expand on this project and paint bathrooms and definitely get to our bedroom. I see a nice shade of green for our bedroom…
Until the next project…
