I walked in the house one afternoon to Kenny watching this video. It's a rather catchy song by Jay-Z and I actualy liked it. (Well a little, he curses alot).
What I did like was the catchy title and how it related to where I'm at in my life in regards to school at this moment. So, no, this post in NOT about a Jay-Z song, but rather the next phase of my life's journey.
I've been toiling back and forth with school in general but mainly nursing school. Of course I want to go but for whatever reasons God isn't allowing it to happen and I was very dissapointed in Him for a LOOOOOONG time. Now He is teaching me to get over it and move on (to the next one) with myself.
Through a conversation with a friend, I began to explore another route - Public Health. What's interesting about it is that it coinsides with the work I do and just about everyone I work with has that degree. She actually found "our" school of choice American Public University System. It would allow us to complete the entire degree online and it's affordable. Once I discovered it and researched it, I was sold and began the process to applying >getting accepted > getting financial aid > and preparing to register for classes. I have a start date of May 2010 (classes start every month), and my friend and I will be doing it together! School is so much more fun when you have someone to go alongside you.
So, I've moved forward. Not meaning I've given up on nursing; it 's just not where the Lord wants me right now. Plus, I've considered becoming a Public health Nurse, so maybe I'll purse it someday. For now, I'm excited and ready to start APUS.
In closing, I will not post Jay-Z's song or lyrics because he does curse too much and this blog's purpose is to honor and glorify God, but of course Israel has a song for the occasion! On his latest CD, The Power Of One, track #7; "Moving Forward" really speaks about the concept of not looking at the past and literally moving forward with the Lord. Moving forward with plans, life and spiritual growth. Many times too much emphasis on the past has stopped me from pursuing dreams of the future. It's about time to break that habit. If the Lord makes available to me brand new mercies each and everyday, why not take advantage of them?! Why not progress as He does because I do not serve a God that dwells on the past. He has made me a new creature in Him. He gives me brand new chance everyday, why not start something new in my life and be satisfied with it.
So, I stand here today as one that is moving forward, on to the next one, in Christ!
The Lord is Awesome!
