July 22, 2010 marked our 4 year wedding anniversary. The day we vowed to love and cherish each other, through good times and bad, whether rich or poor, through sickness and in health, and boy have we experienced that!
It’s been sweet. I’ve enjoyed being married and certainly would not trade this lifestyle for anything else. Kenny has really been my rock, my shoulder to cry on and my source of strength when I can’t seem to gather any. These past years have been difficult but I am glad the Lord gave me a loving husband to go through them with.
DId you know for Mother’s Day he gave me the sweetest card ever? It reads:
Mother’s Day is a thank-you to every women who has ever hugged a baby,
kissed a boo-boo,
Taught a lesson,
listened closely,
cared deeply…
and passed on her love and wisdom to someone in the world who needed her.
He signed: Happy Mother’s Day to a Great Person
Yes, it made me cry as I reflect on this years’ Mother’s Day being absolutely baby free. Ray left what will be almost a year and the emotional ride with that has not been fun. By that card sure made my day and from that and the person behind it I draw my strength. I have a much better understanding of Proverbs 27:17:
As iron sharpens iron,
so one man sharpens another.
Thank you husband for sharpening me, for making me better and for encouraging me. I hope I’m doing to same for you! :)
On another note, for our 4th anniversary, we revisited our honeymoon destination; Cove Haven Entertainment Resorts. This time we stayed at the Pocono Palace Resort and enjoyed fishing, golfing, delicious food and each other. (We ended up having to cut our trip short because Kenny lost his glasses while on a speedboat and became VERY sick. I didn’t know he was that blind!). But we continued with a Saturday trip to Ocean City, NJ. (My first and last trip there- SUPER BORING!)
All in all, I am glad we were able to get away and enjoy each other!
Glasses
No glasses
Worms for fishing… YUCK
We’re gonna ride this marriage thang till the wheels fall off!!!
