The Gloves

While out with a friend it was soon discovered  that she had a break in her skin due to excessive dish washing. I had never seen a case like this before and was amazed and how someones skin could quickly deteriorate just by performing basic duties. So began the quest to help a sista out!
- What about getting your husband to do the dishes (more).
- What about using soap for sensitive skin?
- What about  keeping hands moisturized with a good lotion?
- What about using gloves? (The AHA moment!)

She never thought to use gloves while washing dishes. The  gloves would provide a barrier of protection for her skin and would help decrease the risk of further damage to the skin. The real kicker is that we were discussing this around midnight over food after seeing the movie "For Colored Girls" (that's a post for another time).

This situation made me think of how God has ordained our every moment. Here you have a friend in need and God uses this midnight hour to provide. I couldn't help but think of how good God is and how He is involved in every detail of our lives. We are almost conditioned to only go to Him for the big things but this situation shows how God is concerned about even the smallest of details. That is why it is so important to truly cast our cares on the Lord. He really does care about us. He cares about those things we think He doesn't.

May the Lord always use moments like this in my life (and yours) to draw me (and you) back to Him.

Psalm 55:22 Give your burdens to the Lord, and He will take care of you.
