Clearly these post are out of order, but I need to recap some things we’ve done last year, especially my first trip to Pittsburgh, PA. We visited with the Hale’s to see Momma Hale and spend Thanksgiving with them.
I was prepared for the extreme brisk Pittsburgh weather I had been warned about but it actually wasn’t that bad. I actually walked around without a coat!
On the way there, our white car hit a milestone:
We reached 100,000 miles. Although old, the car runs great. It rarely gives us problems and is great on gas mileage.
Overall the trip was great. I enjoyed all the food I ate and I felt pretty good. The Lord really used this time to reassure me of His promises as the day after Thanksgiving I turned 16 weeks pregnant. Last time, at that mark things did not go so well, so I was a little on edge that day, but the Lord being so faithful assured me that everything was okay but having me be a little sick that day. And i have learned to appreciate pregnancy induced sickness. It assures me that everything is working as it should. (Not that I look forward to vomiting but you know what I mean!) PRAISE THE LORD!
On our trip we visited downtown Pittsburgh and rode the incline. Kenny thought it was boring but he’s like that. I was just grateful for being away.
Then there was the idea to try to swing on the pole…
They wouldn’t let me try!
We also witness a newly married couple taking their photos, so I took some too! Such a gorgeous bride and wedding party!
The streets were clean and clear and although there weren’t many attractions, I do look forward to returning.
And of course we cooked. I even learned to make macaroni and cheese and got the seal of approval for the Mr.!!!!!
