I wanted out nursery to be complete in March 2012 and thankfully that wish has been granted. Although I wanted to help paint and decorate the room, Kenny took over the project. I’m not sure if he desired to do that because he was being a proud poppa or he just didn’t want to work with me because I’m slow…
After spending much time deciding on a color, and using various paint swatches…
We finally came up with a color. I came up with the idea of the shade of green we used and Kenny decided on a bright yellow. That was our collab! And although he tried to block me out, I did get to prep the room before he painted.
But after I was out of his way, and asleep he started and did not sit down until he finished his project.
His next job was to put together ALL of the furniture (purchased by my sister ~ which is a blessing we will discuss later).
First was the rocking chair:
He put it together in no time and it’s super comfy!
Then was the crib:
It’s a beautiful espresso color that came with a mattress and toddler rail. It’s extremely sturdy and he did not complain much putting this together.
Then the changing table:
This only required him to carry it from the car to the room because it was a gift intact given to us by my coworker.
Then the beast…
The dresser. It took him roughly a week (or so) to put this together because once he started the project he realized a piece was broken and had to reorder it. He then complained about the dresser being in 126 pieces! (Big deal!) Apparently, there are dressers that can be ordered semi intact and I just happen to order the one in a million pieces. SORRY! But after his week and a half long journey of putting the dresser together, the end result was a beautifully, well put dresser that should last for years to come. His child will be soo appreciative of his hard work!
My husband is amazing and did a wonderful job in preparing for his baby!!!!!
Until another item needs to be put together…
