This past weekend was filled with events:
Saturday morning my mom picked me so we could head down to Wildwood, NJ. I love that place. The beach, the boardwalk, the attractions, the games and the smell. It's truly a great place to be and Saturday was accompanied by perfect weather. When we arrived we were able to view an open house that was a block away from the beach. It was a beautiful 3 bedroom, 2 bath home. It was being sold with the furnishings and I would have loved to buy it. (If I had the $415,000 they were asking!!)
Anyway, my mom actually gave us all money (Zhanyce, Nae-Nae, Donte and myself) to spend for the day. She even brought us lunch! Go Mar-Mar! We played a few games, Zhanyce won me a stuffed animal, had funnel cake, rode 1 ride and it was a wrap!
The next day I was headed to Great Adventure with City of Refuge Church. We started off with service that morning and it was exactly what I needed to hear. I'll write about that later.
As we prepared to leave for Great Adventure the rain began to come down HARD. They ended up calling the park to see if they would still be open and fortunatley the park only shuts down rides when there is thunder and lightening. So we got on the road and a few minutes after arriving at the park the rain stopped. No, I didn't get on any roller coasters but I had a great time walking, talking, eating and getting to know new people. Pastor Willie is hillarious and I encourage you to visit his church. (It's somewhere around the corner from Tammy's house LOL!) He is one crazy dude on fire for the Lord. At one point he got soooo into playing games that he took his shirt off and rolled his pants up, OMG!! It was a mess! He reminded us of Mr. Brown! God bless him for his willing spirit cuz he tried...
Outside of all the summer attractions (and low cost), this weekend was even more important because it was actually the first weekend I haven't sat and cried all day. Lately, that's all I've been doing because of certain events that have been playing out concerning Ray's situation. If there's something I really hate right now it's that situation. Ray has begun to stay the night at his bio dad's house and it's just an uneasy feeling. It's also nearing the time that he'll probably be leaving us. Next month we go to court and I'm not sure if we'll return with Ray. It's rather depressing but I'm trying to look towards the hills from which comes my help.
In the process I'll take the help of God giving me these little fun events here and there that divert my attention.
All in all, I am grateful to God because I finally had a good weekend...
