My (Our) First Place

When you see this title, it will signify an update of our house search.

Great news! We were pre-approved yesterday and was given the official "OK" to start our house seach (although we've already been looking and have an idea of what we want!) So here's what we're looking for:

- We want to move to Delaware County because they have great schools, many Montessouri schools (learn more at www.montessori.org), and it's a great area for running, walking and sight seeing. Plus, it's a cute little community oriented county. Kenny is more-so focused on Lansdowne, I'm not.
- We want a single or twin home. I don't like being connected to too many people, because that's more of a possibility of coming in contact with their "problems" (if you know what I mean).
- We are looking for a home with at least 3 bedrooms, 1.5 baths, an open floor plan a finished basement, updated and spacious kitchen, a deck and a nice sized backyard.
- More specifically, we do not want a house with oil heat, or visable radiators. They are soo ugly! We either want forced heat or covered radiators.

I applied for us to appear on My First Place and I really hope they call us to appear on the show. That would be fantastic! We have not stopped watching that show since we decided to buy a home. It would be great to watch it one day and see our faces on the screen! I submitted the application on Thursday, June 4, 2009 at 11am. Let's see how long it takes for them to call us back!

Why are we choosing to buy a house you ask:
- $8000 tax credit for first time home buyers who purchase by December 1, 2009 - HELLO!!
- Kenny wants a basement. He wants to get away from all the noise we make.
- I want a larger kitchen so I can fit all my applicances in it.
- We want to have BBQ's on our deck with his charcoal grill and my gas grill.
- It's time to stop paying someone else's mortgage and pay our own!
- And last buy not least, Mikki needs a backyard!!!
