After receiving word that our offer was accepted we received loads of paperwork! I feel like we are signing our life away! One document is 22 pages long - and yes EVERY page needs something written on it, and we have another document that's 8 pages. WOW! There are also a gazillion numbers. And some of these costs are outrageous:
-Why are we paying someone $400 to appraise a house. I mean, all you do is look at it and tell us how much YOU think it's worth. Does that really cost $400???
- Processing fee, $500. How much processing can one do???
- This one really makes me mad - There's a $25 charge for something to be emailed! You've got to be kidding me! EMAIL! $25!!!! It's FREE everywhere you go! HELLO FREE WI FI!
- And what about interest? You end up paying more interest than the amount you actually borrowed.
I must be in the wrong business! These folks are making a killing.
(BTW - Yes, I read every nook and cranny on each and every piece of paper we receive)
